Welcome!
You've found the home page for Susan Holihan's classroom at Mount Si High School. If you are a student or parent, you can find the answers to most of your questions about my courses on this site.
First, a bit of information about me:
I did my undergraduate work at Albion College, a small liberal-arts college in Michigan. At Albion, I was a member of the Gerald R. Ford Institute for Public Service, and was the editor of the campus newspaper, The Pleiad. After college, I worked for the United States Senate for three years, before attending Seattle University's Master in Teaching program.
I am certified to teach Language Arts, Journalism and Political Science, and I also hold a conditional CTE certificate in journalism and publishing. I have been teaching at Mount Si since the 1999-2000 school year.
Outside of school, I am married with a daughter who is in first grade this year. I enjoy crafting--especially sewing and crocheting--and reading. I also love watching BBC television ranging from Downton Abbey to Doctor Who to Sherlock.
Contact Me
The best way to contact me is via e-mail. I can usually find a few minutes during the day to read and respond to messages, so you will almost always get a reply within 24 hours. My email address is: [email protected]
You can also contact me by phone at 425-831-4240. Please be aware that I can only return calls before or after school.
